Here are some photos of my Israeli Merkava I.

As part of the weathering process I covered the front deck with sand as I have seen this in reference photos of the Merkava I in action.  I added gear to the exterior and then gave it a full weathering job before displaying it on a  diorama base with a couple of figures from Verlinden.
